Vancouver Day 12 -Van Con Day 1
The organisers hadn't really told us what the process was for day to day, so after missing out on Chad Lindberg's Meet & Greet backstage, I snagged a copy of the scheduled which was taped tot the table out the back. The Creation convention schedule was confusing enough and now I had a separate schedule to follow for the VIP Meet & Greets. On the bright side they did provide us with nibbles and lunch.
The best part of being VIP was the private interaction between each of the guests amoung the ten of us, and of course the privelidge of not having to wait in queues for anything. That was awesome, you could just walk up at anytime and you could go to the head of the queue, but at $1260 it was a hefty price to pay, so I made sure I took full advantage where possible.
After bit of registration hoo haa, we were ticketed, wristbanded & ready to go into the ballroom where the convetnion was to take place.
First up were Alona Tal & Chad Lindberg. They were awesome together, a real tag team so to speak, feeding off eachother's responses to questions and making a real fun time of it! I won't go into details of the actual Q&A's as I'm sure everyone was tweeting everything during the panels.
Suffice to say Chad seemed to have ants in his pants & couldn't sit still really hard to get decent pics of him, but bless him he was so funny!! Alona was awesome & so beautiful, I loved her denim shorts & boots.
After that panel we briefly popped backstage to see Colin Lawrence. He was friendly and freaked out when I told him I was from Australia. He was blown away that I'd travel so far for a convention LOL
Colin was next up for a panel, also known as the pool man in Faith & a demon hunter in 99 Problems I think. He was engaging, but for some reason I though the organisers could have gotten an actor who was in an episode longer than a couple of minutes if you know what I mean. Anyway, Colin was only up for a short while.
Then it was time for lunch & for us VIPs to head backstage for a feed. They took our orders for subway and it was there before we knoew it!
Next up was a backstage chat to Richard Speight Jr. AKA Gabriel/Trickster He is always good value, he had us in hysterics in the first few seconds, told us he's about to shoot a few more Pepsi ads. Can[t wait for that!
Then we were back out the front for his panel. Richard did the roving microphone thing again, so I couldn't really get many shots of him either, he had us all hangin' on every word though, he has such an awesome charisma about him.
Then it was time for photo ops before the 3 hour dinner cruise with Misha Collins.
We all got on the bus in plenty of time to make it to the boat. There waiting for us was Misha poking his head out of the window to greet us on board.
There was a little bit of jostling for tables, but we managed to eventually get one table for all of us to sit together. We didn't get much face time with Misha as he was being crowded by a few over anxious fans so some of us just relaxed and enjoyed eachother's company & the magnificent scenery! Eventually Misha made it to us so we at least got to say a few quick words to him.
Before we knew it the cruise was over, and it was time to get to the Karaoke Party!!!
My "Aussie Posse" friends & I chose our songs & submitted them. Lucky for us were first up so we decided to get things rolling with AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long". We had Matt Cohen, Alona Tal, Chad Lindberg Colin Lawrence & Richard Speight Jr. up there with us for back up and we got the party started.
Before you knew it, there were, people getting up left right & centre, and the place was jumpin'! Songs were being sunch well into the night, and then we got called up for our second song of the night... Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead Or Alive" Then all the guys did a rendition of Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar On Me" be fore finishing off with a reprise of the song we sang way back at the begining of the night AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long"
What a night!!
